Photorejuvenation works for sun-damaged skin, age spots, skin texture, flushing, Rosaceas, broken capillaries and photo aging. The rejuvenation doesn’t stop there for it also improves mild acne scars, correct dark circles around the eyes, reduces fine lines and even large pores. It is no secret that we often look for ways to either minimize or eradicate the effects of our hectic lifestyles.

Using a series of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments, photorejuvenation is a dynamic non-ablative process that works in a low influence non-ablative manner to rejuvenate our skin.

A series of gentle pulses is applied over the treatment area without damaging the skin as a gentle light penetrates the skin. This will be absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. The heat causes damage to the vessel or lesion and then the natural healing process begins. The process will entail the darkening of lesions before it is either absorbed by the body or flakes off.

The treatment takes around 15 to 45 minutes depending on the affected area. A cool gel will be applied to the area and once a pulse of light is delivered, you will feel a sensation similar to a snap of a rubber band. Later the gel will be removed and the skin cleansed. A sunscreen is applied to the area. For maximum comfort, topical anesthesis can be used to elevate the minimal pain. A cool compress often works for sensitive skill after the treatment is administered.

For aesthetically pleasing results, it is recommended that the whole face is treated rather than a limited affected area. Effective treatment can be attained through a series of four to six procedures in 3 week intervals.

Photorejuvenation has practically no side-effects and causes little downtime when compared to other treatments like microdermabrasion and laser resurfacing, thus allowing you to resume your normal activities immediately.

The side-effects of Photorejuvenation are minimal to rare, and which may include the following:

  • may appear flushed
  • brown pigmented spot might appear darker
  • capillaries might be visible
  • temporary swelling and blistering (rare)
