In woman’s subcutaneous fat layer, there are specific big chambers which permit fats to be accumulated. However in men, these chambers are in fact small and inclining units which can amass smaller amounts of fats which is why men rarely have cellulite.
Complex physiological changes that take place in this subcutaneous fat layer is the reason or cellulite. People have a misconception that by exercising and eating good diets, they can avoid having cellulite or get rid of them - this is not true. However, an an unhealthy lifestyle will make cellulite look worse, e.g. due to insufficient nutrition, continuous weight gain and inadequate water consumption. Aging is also another factor that causes cellulite because the tone and firm tissue in the fat and skin layers slowly are spent when one ages.
There are many products in the market, usually creams and lotions, that claim to combat cellulite by simply massaging or applying over the problematic area. The fact is cellulite cannot be tackled solely through the use of topical treatments. However, creams which have antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and herbs do help in making skin healthier and smoother. Creams that have antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients have proven to be more effective as they can promote better blood flow.
This is because the cellulite areas are generally damaged and dry, and requires extra moisture and protection. By keeping the area well-moisturized, cellulite can be temporarily improved on. However, it is important to know that cellulite needs to be treated both internally and externally. Just by the application of topical creams, it would not treat cellulite completely as this condition needs to be treated from the inside as well.
Some women opt for cosmetic surgery to diminish the unattractive appearance of cellulite. Mesotheraphy and endermologie procedures are well-known and effective methods. Those who go for liposuction will more often than not be disappointed in the results as they are not suitable methods in treating cellulite.
